Prof. Vivek Bohara is offering an online NPTEL course on "Fundamentals Of Wireless Communication (Hindi)" from 22 July, 2024.
MoWiNet research group aims to develop efficient architectures and strategies for the future generation wireless networks. The group is mainly involved in developing the analytical frameworks, simulation models, and experimental verification by designing suitable prototypes.
Reconfigurable Intelligent surfaces (RIS) consist of tunable low-cost
passive reflecting elements that have an ability to alter the propagation of
waves impinging on it by adjusting the reflection amplitude, phase shift,
angle of departure. RIS can help in achieving the broader coverage, high
date-rate, enhanced reliability and security for wireless communications.
Non-orthogonal multiple access has emerged as a promising multiple access
technique for next generation wireless networks due to its superior spectral
efficiency, low latency, higher data rate, and lower congestion. It exploits the
power domain diversity to serve multiple users simultaneously over the same
time and frequency resources.
D2D communication is expected to play a significant role in upcoming
cellular networks as it promises ultra-low latency for communication among
users. It is capable of enhancing the performance of the cellular networks by
intelligently allocating resources among the networks entities.
To study the energy efficiency, channel modeling, 3D UAV Placement Optimization, Trajectory Planning, Wireless backhaul Connectivity, and Privacy and Security of UAV-Assisted Wireless Communications.
AmBC has been introduced as a cutting-edge technology which enables smart devices to communicate by utilizing ambient radio frequency signals without requiring active radio frequency transmission. It is especially effective in addressing communication and energy efficiency problems for low-power communications systems.
V2V networks are expected to empower an era of intelligent transportation systems by providing better traffic management, efficient resource utilization, and an enriched personal experience to the users on the move.
To enable seamless and reliable communications, SWIPT technology can be a promising energy harvesting scheme, where terminals are capable of harvesting energy from the radio-frequency signals. SWIPT has proved to be more efficient in spectrum usage than transmitting information and energy in orthogonal time or frequency channels.
To create a framework for realizing semantic communication based wireless networks and accordingly build a few prototypes for human-to-human, human-to-machine and machine-to-machine systems.
